Say YES or NO to the weekly leaflet package

InMijnBus allows households to simply indicate whether or not they prefer to receive the weekly Spotta leaflet package. This helps reduce the amount of unread printed material.

InMijnBus will be tested in certain Ede and Utrecht postcodes between October 1st and December 31, 2022. The test performed by InMijnBus relates to Spotta's leaflet package. This package includes door-drops from supermarkets, drugstores, and hardware stores.

Why change?

Convenience
Environment
Local
Unsightly stickers

The current system is regarded as not user-friendly: letterbox stickers are difficult to get hold of, and it's not possible to change their preferences during holiday periods.

Every advertising leaflet which ends up in the paper recycling without being read is a waste of raw materials and energy. By making it easier for households to (temporarily) adjust their preferences, the amount of unread printed matter will be reduced. And by knowing the number of households for which advertising materials need to be printed every week means that print runs can be determined much more precisely.

The advertising leaflet is an important tool for local businesses and associations to inform residents regarding offers and events. It must be simple for households to indicate directly whether their preference is to keep receiving advertising and information, or not.

In the 30 years that the letterbox sticker has existed, around 35% of Dutch households have stuck a NO-NO, NO-YES, or YES sticker on their letterbox. Market research shows that up to 15% of the households do not apply a sticker because they find it inconvenient to arrange a sticker or prefer not to have an unsightly sticker on their letterbox. Preferences can be indicated more easily and less visibly through online registration.

This is how it works

Step 1

Each household will receive a card

Change your preference? Scan the QR code on the car. Every address has a unique InMijnBus code. The QR code can be scanned to inform of a change or temporary adjustment. Alternatively, you can call. You are not interested to in this offer? The deliverer will respect the preference of the letterbox sticker.

Step 2

Check the address behind the code

Please confirm the address. This will ensure the preference change will be passed along for the correct address. If the address is not correct, a new QR code card can be requested for the correct address.

Step 3

On or off in 1 click

By simply using the sliders, households can indicate their choice whether or not to receive Spotta's leaflet package. This can be changed at any time or for a temporary period.

A change that is notified is implemented quickly and will be processed within two weeks.

Step 4

Temporarily switch deliveries on or off

Simply indicate in which weeks Spotta's leaflet package should or should not be delivered. Going on holiday? Then indicate off in InMijnBus. Festive season approaching? You are able to indicate a certain periode of time you would like to receive Spotta's leaflet package.

Step 5

Keep the InMijnBus card safe

The InMijnBus QR code belongs to the house. This is done for privacy reasons, we are unaware of who you are and don't want to know. We only know the address. As a resident of that address, you let us know via InMijnBus whether or not you want to receive Spotta's leaflet package.

Frequently asked questions

There is a phone number on the InMijnBus card. This will allow you to indicate the preferences for your household using the unique code from the address.

You can easily request a replacement card for your address on the InMijnBus website. This card will be delivered to your address, and you can then use the card to adjust the preferences which are registered for the address.

Yes, you can. This can only be done over the phone using the phone number on the InMijnBus card including the unique code.

No. On InMijnBus households only indicate their preference for whether or not to receive the Spotta's leaflet package and not for other non-personal post. From the moment a household changes its preference via InMijnBus, the delivery person follows that preference for the Spotta's leaflet package.

From October 1 to December 31, 2022, InMijnBus will be tested in certain postcodes of Ede and Utrecht. Those households will receive the card by post before 1 October. The exact planning of the rest of the Netherlands is being discussed.

No, we will send a new card with a QR code free of charge.

In Ede, the following zip codes participate in the test: 6717, 6718
In Utrecht, these zip codes participate in the test: 3451, 3452, 3555, 3561, 3562

The test is temporary, but your (changed) choice will continue to apply after that. Once the test is completed we will further inform you.

The deliverer currently follows the preference of the letterbox sticker until a change has been communicated via InMijnBus. In Ede, the default preference of every household is set to YES. In Utrecht, the default preference of every household is set to NO.

Consumers use the advertising leaflet for their weekly shopping. Approx. 2/3rd of Dutch citizens read them almost every week. One in five households needs the offers to make ends meet and local businesses need the advertising leaflet to interest (new) customers in their service, shop, or restaurant. Currently, the advertising leaflet still fulfils an important economic function. This may be adopted by other media over time.
